My name is Katie Mangelsdorf. I'm a Moms Demand Action volunteer leader in the state of Kansas, and Kansas has always been a bit of an uphill battle anyway with our gun violence prevention work, so I know that so much of the work that we continue is going to be boots on the ground, going to Topeka when we need to, contacting our legislators, contacting anyone who may have reached out to us in the past but isn't an active volunteer, getting all of those folks involved. Additionally, something that I really think is important is people are looking for a concrete action that they can take, and so I really recommend donating blood. I've been donating blood for 30 years, and I feel like it is something that if you are able to do, it absolutely ties in directly with the work we do, and it gives you something concrete to do with your time and your day.
